Our Fruit Praise the Lord for what He is doing in us and through us this year. I want to give you a quick update on what’s going on at Valdosta State. Recently, on February 18-20, 113 students from VSU went to Tallahassee for our Winter Retreat. The retreat was a time for students to hang out with friends, meet new friends, and be able to get out of Valdosta for a weekend. We also got everyone from the retreat a ticket to the Florida State/Georgia Tech basketball game. We had a lot of fun but most important the retreat gave students time to focus on their relationship with God.
We were excited to have Chris Drinkard, Campus Outreach Area Director, come and speak to us at the retreat. The first night Chris shared the gospel and spoke on the difference between authentic Christians and phony Christians. The rest of the weekend he spoke on the importance of building your foundation on eternal things and being a lifetime laborer. The response was amazing. Three girls gave their lives to Christ that weekend. The most exciting thing was being able to see all of our leaders after the meetings engaging in one-on-one spiritual conversations. After every meeting I saw leader after leader, guys and girls, sharing with people they invited to the retreat about how God is impacting their lives. This is why WE (Emily, I, the STAFF and YOU) are laboring at VSU to build leaders who will go and impact the world for Christ. Praise the Lord for what He is doing at VSU!!!
Our Fulfillment Something I have been studying with the guys I am discipling is Dan Dehaan’s book “The God You Can Know.” It has been so great to study this personally. It gave me a chance to reflect on how I view God. John 17:3 says, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” Nothing profound about that. But my fulfillment was always based on my performance for God and now I know it should be about knowing my Father and His Son. This truth has led the way in how I live, lead my wife, and how I disciple men. Its pretty simple from what I have learned, if you want to pursue holiness; pursue knowing God.
Our Finances There is a passage in Hebrews 13, where it speaks of how Moses, by faith, looked ahead to his treasures in heaven over treasures on earth. It says he considered treasures in heaven, “of greater value”. When you read this please don’t feel sorry for us, but with us consider knowing Him is the greatest value! As of the end of February our deficit reached $6,400 and we were lacking about $600/ month in support. Please prayerfully consider how you may help. I am CONFIDENT, God is going to raise this money. Please be CONFIDENT, with Emily and I and continue to pray that God would give us confirmation by raising our support on where He wants us the next few years. God Bless all of you and know that Emily and I are praying for all of you. “And OUR GOD will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ.”

Introduction of New Staff
I’d like to take some time to let you meet the partners we are laboring with in Valdosta at Valdosta State University (VSU). We would like to take time to re-introduce our staff and introduce our new staff members to you.
Our staff team has been divided into different areas of the campus to help us reach more students with the Gospel. We have a Greek ministry, Athletes ministry, and Dorm ministry. Our campus director is Josh Romine who we want to congratulate on his recent wedding in October to our new staff partner, Christy Romine. Our Dorm ministry is led by myself & Julie Bell. We just hired Amy Crandall who just graduated from University of North Florida. Our Greek ministry is led by Jason Ellerbee and Lindsey Stevens. Jason’s wife Elizabeth also is laboring to the Greeks. Our Athlete ministry is led by Richard Harris, who also spends a lot of time ministering in the dorms. His wife, Alicia, labors in the Greek ministry.
The Lord has blessed us by giving us so many laborers to help us reach VSU with the Gospel. Please pray for unity and a Christ-centered community among the staff.
Prayer & Fasting Retreat
We want to focus this year on totally depending on Christ changing the hearts of students and us abiding in Christ. So we started this semester by having a prayer and fasting retreat. Why fast? For God to show us the true necessity isn’t food, but the Lord.
The staff and a couple of students took some time at the beginning of the semester to get away and went to a little retreat site about 20 minutes south of the campus in Valdosta. We came into the retreat on Friday night and stayed until Sunday morning. We spent some time praying for each other and a couple of hours studying the Word and then we prayed for God to show our student leaders more of himself. We then prayed for the new students coming to Valdosta for the first time this year. We prayed for the Christians that they would get plugged into Bible studies. Finally we prayed for the lost that they would come into a relationship with Christ.
Our Leader’s Retreat
Our Leader’s Retreat this year was held in Milledgeville, GA on Sept. 10-12th. The purpose of the retreat is to get the student’s away from their hectic schedule and give them the opportunity to spend some time with the Lord.
The theme of the retreat was “Light the World”. We had over 40 students attend the retreat. On Friday night, Josh spoke on God’s call for us to be the light of the world and that is only if we keep the fan flaming in our own hearts. I spoke on Saturday morning on the importance of keeping the flame fanning in your heart. I spoke on the importance of spending time with the Lord everyday. I also spoke on staying connected with Christians who will point you to Christ. And I also spoke on the importance of getting connected to a church. All these things will help our students fan the flame in their hearts. On Saturday night, Richard spoke on the most effective way to light the world. That is to build relationships with these students and to show them the love of Christ. We had a lot of fun and fellowship in Milledgeville. We got to camp out and even had a water balloon fight with the girls. The leaders and staff found this time to be refueling and rewarding.
Our One80 Meetings
Our weekly meetings are called One80 because we pray that every student that comes will make a one hundred and eighty degree turn away from the world and towards Jesus Christ. The meetings started Aug. 25th with over 150 students attending. The meetings consist of half an hour of games, skits, and testimonies led by our students and then in the final half hour a staff person comes and shares the Word of God. The theme of our semester has been “HiStory”- God’s redemptive plan to redeem the culture. I have had the pleasure to speak on topics like “How can a loving God punish people?” and “Who would die for a lie?” It has been a great semester at One80! God is moving on this campus!
Prayer Requests:
Thanks once again, on behalf of Emily & I, for your partnership in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Here are some specific things we would ask you to be praying for on our behalf:

Lindsey's Latest….
Well, we are finishing up the school year here at VSU and continue to be amazed
by God's faithfulness. After seeing Him draw over 40 students into a personal
relationship with Christ, I am more convinced than ever that God is always doing
immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.
It is so exciting to think about how God will use this summer to continue
raising up men and women who worship Him with their life. We offer two summer
opportunities- Summer Beach Project (SBP) and Cross Cultural Project (CCP). Both
of these are open to students from VSU, UNF, GC&SU, ASU, and GSU. The SBP is an
eight week program in Daytona where students work full time jobs and take
advantage of growing in their relationship with God. Sudents will learn
different ways to study the Bible, pray, share their faith, and lead others. We
have 45 students from VSU participating in our SBP this summer. The CCP is also
an eight week program designed to give students an opportunity to minister in a
different culture. This year we will be going to Johannesburg, South Africa, and
I get to be a part of that team. We will be taking a team of 17 students and 3
staff. We will all be working on the college campus there along side a team of
other Campus Outreach staff. We look forward to experiencing a new culture while
serving and loving the same God. We trust that God will use this team to reach
students from all over Africa. We fly out of Atlanta on May 9th.
You are impacting students lives for eternity through your prayers and financial
support. It is a privilege to work with you and a joy to share it with you.
Please commit to praying for us this summer. Thanks again for encouraging me
with your time, prayers, and giving!
Trusting In Him,
Lindsey Stevens
Asian & Caucasian Persuasion…
On May 7, 2004 the students at Valdosta State University concluded their school
year. The school year can be defined for some as exhausting, for some it was
exciting, and yet for some it was just another year. But for over 40 students,
this year was a year they will never forget because it was the year they gave
their lives to Jesus Christ.
The theme throughout the year from the very first Campus Outreach meeting, to
the Orlando Christmas Conference, to the final CO meeting and Bible Study was
God offers the best life possible (John 10:10).
I am excited to tell you that we have over 50 students going to
the Summer Beach Project in Daytona Beach, Florida. Also, our own staff
partners, Lindsey Stevens & Josh Romine will be going to Johannesburg, South
Africa for Campus Outreach's Cross-cultural project. Please pray for the
student's summers, wherever they are, that the Lord would shape them into men
and women sold out to living in the light, like a "city on a hill".
